Jane Huffman Awarded 2023 Honickman Prize

The American Poetry Review is happy to announce that the 2023 APR/Honickman First Book Prize has been awarded to Jane Huffman for her manuscript Public Abstract, chosen by our guest judge, Dana Levin. The book will be published in September 2023 and will be distributed by Copper Canyon Press through Consortium. 

 

Jane Huffman is a doctoral student in poetry at the University of Denver. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in The Nation, POETRY, The New Yorker, The Kenyon Review, and elsewhere. She was a 2019 recipient of the Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation. Jane is an MFA graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop. She is founder and editor-in-chief of Guesthouse (www.guesthouselit.com), an online literary journal. She reviews poetry for Publishers Weekly, and serves as a reviews editor for Denver Quarterly.
